M‑CO were commissioned by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH) to co-design the National Policy on Architecture. M‑CO analysed outputs from a national consultation and developed a framework of high-level policy objectives.
M‑CO designed and facilitated a series of workshops with the Department and an advisory group. The advisory group included the state architect; CEO of the Royal Institute of Architects Ireland; the senior advisor of Urbanism and Architecture for the DHLGH; chief architectural advisors of the Arts Council, Heritage Council, HSE and the Department of Education; the director of the Architecture Foundation; and the head of the School of Architecture in UCD. From these workshops M‑CO worked with the client to refine the high-level objectives, develop strategic policy actions and to advise on implementation strategy and governance.
M‑CO managed the content development, editing and review, and designed a series of visualisations and graphics that presented complex strategic policy issues and designed a final report that was submitted to the Minister.
